I stopped for one night while continuing a long drive and had asked for a Superior Twin room with a window. The toilet floor was mouldy, so I ended up buying slippers at the nearby Mydin. The sheets and pillows smelled and didn’t seem properly cleaned, and the table and closet were also dirty. Three outlets didn’t work, including the one by the TV. If clean and comfortable rooms matter a lot to you, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I’d look at a 3 or 4 star hotel in Ipoh.

The toilet was really dirty and the room cleanliness was pretty bad. The bed made a lot of noise, the air conditioner remote didn’t work, and there was no phone in the room, so you have to walk up and down.

The night manager was friendly and helpful, and the clean drinking water was good, I guess. But both rooms were filthy: the manager moved us after we checked in, then had to clean the replacement room too. Watch out for the daytime manager trying to charge tourism tax that was already paid through booking sites like booking.com and Agoda. They seemed to know it was paid, but kept insisting until we showed the receipt.

The bed was very comfortable, and staff we dealt with later were friendly and helpful. Check-in was a different story: the receptionist was unfriendly and didn’t help with parking, which you have to pay for through an app. The room felt old and worn, the curtains were coming off, and there was a condom tucked into the toilet roll holder.

Some of the furniture wasn’t clean, and the bed made me itchy. I really couldn’t sleep well on the first night.
