Hotel Seri Malaysia Johor Bahru

After an eight-hour bus ride, I was very thankful that the receptionist on duty on 23/8/25 let me check in early at 5am. It made a big difference and gave me some much-needed comfort. The hotel is also very handy for Larkin Sentral, just a five-minute walk away.

We slept really well. The pillows were soft and comfortable, and the air conditioning could be adjusted with the remote to a temperature that suited us. I’ve stayed at a five-star hotel where even setting the temperature to 28 left me freezing and unable to sleep, so this mattered to me. The bathroom was clean and had a shower curtain, so water didn’t splash everywhere. The toilet water pressure was just right and the water was clean. The room itself was clean and welcoming, with a full glass window facing greenery. We still had privacy with the curtain open for natural light, and the room felt more spacious. The sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels were clean and smelled nice. Parking was plentiful, free, safe, and inside the hotel grounds. Our room was ready when we arrived. I booked through agoda at a good rate, and check-in was smooth and quick. I liked the simple room access, especially when tired from travelling, and the wifi worked well. The location was convenient too. Thanks for the hospitality.

I tried the ramadhan buffet. For a pocket-friendly price, the food was decent and tasted good, especially the briyani and lamb.

The location is very strategic, and the room was comfortable. Still, the room quality needs work: there was only one plug, and the air conditioning smelled. Please put money into maintenance. Breakfast was meant to start at 7pm, according to reception at check-in, but it opened late because there weren’t enough kitchen staff. Government servants staying for IPGM or elsewhere need to leave before 8 am, so please improve both the service and room condition.
