KSL D'Esplanade Residence BY R9 Homestay

The room was spacious and close to the shopping mall, but there were no other plus points. For the price and facilities, it was worse than a 3-star hotel. Horrible experience, not worth the money.

The lift situation was awful. There are four lifts but only one worked, so waits ran 30-45 minutes. At one point we had to climb 22 levels to get in and out, including someone in our group with an injured ankle. Completely unacceptable. I stayed in a 3-bedroom unit on Level 22 beside KSL Mall, and the apartment was full of faulty, poorly maintained things. The sofa backrest felt unusable, even the door stoppers were broken, and there was no toilet paper or tissue, so we bought our own. The curtains were so thin that sunlight came straight in, making it impossible to sleep in. The first bedroom had no window and felt like a storage room. The second and third bedrooms had the same problems: mosquitoes kept us swatting all night, the pillows were dirty, blankets stained and sheets filthy, possibly with bed bugs. The toilet was disgusting, the bathtub was dirty and faulty, and the bidet didn't work. The soft, creaky bed made strange noises whenever I moved. This place was a disaster. Maintenance seemed nonexistent and management didn't seem to care. Between the broken amenities and safety concerns, the price and stress weren't worth it. Avoid it.

The room was really dirty, and we found a baby cockroach on the bed and in the bathroom. The extra pillow looked like it had never been washed. The lift was awful too, with a very long wait to get in, if it wasn't overloaded. 0/10, VERY NOT RECOMMENDED!

My family and I stayed at KSL D'Esplanade Residence Level unit #35-01 from 9-11 Aug 2025, and it was a bitter, upsetting experience. The whole unit smelled, the TV didn't work, the bed was sunken, there were bed bugs, and the pillows had mold stains. The ironing board had no cover. Because of the bed bug infestation, we had to scramble to find another unit for the next night. We were very disappointed and traumatized. No more homestays for us, we'll choose a hotel instead.
