OYO 89577 Kristal Hotel

For a 2 star hotel, it was actually good. The room was comfortable and had basic facilities, with easy access to a supermarket. At the cheapest price, booking online is preferable, and you can pay at the hotel counter when you arrive.

On an impromptu trip to keningau, I picked the first hotel I saw. It wasn’t a bad stay, though I wish I’d read the reviews first. The hotel was old but well maintained. The room was spacious and clean, with a large bed and no carpet. The toilet looked dirty but was clean, and the water heater worked. The air conditioner got cold, but it was ancient and sang all night. I woke up every 2 hours because of the sound, so it needs fixing. The TV only had local channels, tv1,2,3 and NTV7. There’s no lift, so don’t bring heavy luggage. Parking was plentiful and free. It’s in the town centre, near banks, mall, and watson. Price was cheap, below 100rm.

The hotel is old, so I came expecting just a decent night’s sleep, and that was enough. It’s also one of the town’s more affordable places to stay. Shops, banks, restaurants and other places are only a short walk away.

The price is low, the location is convenient, and the customer service was good. The room felt dated, especially the air conditioner. The sockets weren’t placed well, and adjusting the shower temperature was difficult. At times there was only cold water. There’s no heater in the room, so hot water is available from the Coway outside.
