OYO 495 Kluang Parade Hotel

For the price and location, it wasn't bad. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bathroom was clean and new. The towel, though, was very old and thin, and some parts of the room need fresh paint because it's peeling.

The location is convenient, about a 10-15 minute walk to GSC, the railway station, and the bus terminal. The room had a window, but it looked out onto a run-down, unoccupied building. I booked a non-smoking room, yet it smelled of tobacco. WiFi was provided but wouldn't work, and it couldn't find an IP address. This isn't a luxury hotel.

I'm not sure whether the hotel was still being renovated or if the work was finished. The halls and rooms looked recently painted, but the paint smell was still there, and the room floor was filthy. I had to keep my shoes on inside.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the reception staff worked well. The corridors get noisy. There's a shopping complex right beside the hotel with a department store, supermarket, food and drink places, clothing shops, and lots of phone shops. Kluang Mall is nearby too, as is the Kluang Bus Terminal across the river.
