WANida Suite Al Waqaf Resident Near Mydin Mall

The toilet smelled unpleasant when we arrived, and our 10.00 pm check-in took around 15 minutes because of a room allocation issue. Apart from that, the room was spacious and comfortable for the price. The in-house facilities were good too. Plenty of cafés are nearby, and Mydin Mall is just a 2-minute walk away. Stayed 3D2N (29-31 Dec 2025).

The staff were friendly, but the room was not clean enough for me to feel comfortable. The bedsheets clearly hadn’t been changed. We were exhausted and only staying one night, so instead of making a complaint, we put towels over the pillowcases. The sink by the mirror was clogged and unusable, and there wasn’t a sink in the toilet. Breakfast was mediocre, with very few choices. Pancakes for children would be a nice addition. With the room’s cleanliness and maintenance issues, I’m unlikely to come back.

Breakfast was acceptable. I had nasi kerabu and kuih akok. We stayed from 1-4/1/2026, and the three-person room had plenty of space, but it really needed better cleaning. The toilet needed a thorough scrub from the door through to the wall. On our last night we switched to a room for two. Its bed leg and bidet were broken. We were going home soon anyway, so we didn’t bother changing rooms again. Would I return? Only if I could be sure everything had been cleaned.

I’d stayed here twice before, most recently almost three years ago, so this visit was a shock. The corridor was dim and musty, and the first room smelled strongly of cigarettes. There were no towels, so I called reception to ask for them. The mattress was hard and its springs or metal dug into me. I asked to move rooms, and they agreed, but the second room still smelled of cigarettes and mustiness and wasn’t clean. Its mattress was a little more comfortable, and since it was already late afternoon I decided to stay. Then I noticed stains on the blanket that looked like blood, along with a musty smell. The mug was visibly dirty too. The room and bathroom were not clean overall. I hope management keeps a close eye on room conditions so they’re clean and comfortable for guests.
