The room faced the bank, and despite being on Gaya Street, it was quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the Smart TV and internet worked well. The rooms are basic and quite dated, with a wobbly toilet seat cover and shower water that tends to splash out. The location is convenient for food on Gaya Street, Suria, the Jesselton ferry, and the night markets. Those are about a 10-15 minute walk away, though you can also grab a ride.

The hotel's area felt quiet, lively, and safe, and it's close to Halal restaurants with easy access to grapcar. My small windowless room was still comfortable, with enough floor space to pray and use a travel prayer mat. I liked the calming classic white design and the English style theme. The room had a wide selection of Netflix channels and YouTube on the Smart TV, plus fast wifi, a working water heater, and a comfortable bed for relaxing with a movie. The bathroom was spacious, and surprisingly, there was a hair dryer in the room. Disposable slippers, hats, a toothbrush, and toothpaste were provided too. For a budget hotel, it looks elegant and classic.

The staff were pleasant, and the location is great. The rooms are nicely done, but the old air conditioning units couldn't cope with the Malaysian summer. It was 33 degrees outside with very high humidity, and the rooms felt just as hot. We couldn't sleep, including in another room we were offered. The lobby was cool and comfortable, which made the contrast frustrating. I'd avoid staying until they sort out the air conditioning.

The location is really good, with lots of cafes and restaurants nearby and a mall within walking distance. Staff were lovely and accommodating, and let us check out an hour late. Our small room fit us and our luggage, was clean, and came with towels, a hair dryer, and toiletries. The air conditioning worked well. The bathroom needs major renovation, though. For a short stay in a decent place, it was nice and felt like what we paid for.

The water heater stopped working after its first use, and the room had almost no soundproofing. I could hear the elevator ding, neighbours talking and showering, and more. At night, light from the bathroom wakes everyone because part of its wall is glass. The rooms need proper renovation and are tiny, and the bed advertised as queen size was really small. This was my worst hotel experience in Malsiya. Totally not recommended.
