The room was comfortable, with soap and shampoo provided, and the air conditioning and hot shower worked well. The price is reasonable, and the WiFi was fast enough to keep me occupied on my phone. They'd told me at check-in that my room had no TV. There's no lift, so if stairs are difficult for you, you'll need to look elsewhere. It used to be Crown hotel and has been rebranded as Bayu 23 Hotel. It's a good place to rest, not far from Kota Kinabalu International airport, though every so often you hear planes landing or taking off. Servay Express shop is right next door. It's not open 24 hours, but its prices are cheaper than any 24-hour shop. You can ask for an electric kettle, but there was no instant coffee or cup. I usually travel with my favorite instant 3in1 coffee, but without a cup it wasn't much use.

It’s a handy stop for transit, especially with the low rate, and the air conditioning works well. The superior deluxe bed room felt pretty small, though. There’s Wi-Fi, but no TV at the moment, and no coffee or shampoo. Hope they improve things.

The price felt too high. The air conditioner was slow, its remote didn’t work, and the walls were moldy.

By 2 a.m. there still wasn’t any water, so after a long trip I couldn’t shower. I called reception and was told, “There’s nothing we can do.”

There are a few restaurants nearby, and Tanjung Aru beach has a beautiful sunset. The room was clean, and the airport is close.
