Mandarin Hotel

That bathroom really stood out, especially the shower. You don't appreciate a good one until you've had a bad one. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the basics were all there, which worked well since I spent most of my trip out exploring. The central spot is great, though it does get noisy. There was a gap around the windows that let sound in, but even on the weekend things quieted down by midnight at the latest. Good value, and I'd stay again.

Food and marts are very close by, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. For a 2 star hotel, the service felt like 5 star, and everything was very clean. They even offer a free one way shuttle to the airport. The shower in my room took a while to warm up, but that's my only complaint. I'll definitely come back when I'm in KK.

Parking is the main hassle here. The hotel doesn't provide it, so you'll need to find a spot yourself. There are plenty of public spaces nearby at RM2 per hour, but the area stays full from about 7am to 9pm, so finding one can be difficult. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the staff provided good service. Still, it's a nice place to stay.

The walls are a bit thin. I had a loud neighbor on a couple of nights, which got annoying. Otherwise, the staff were super friendly and the air conditioning worked really well. The location was perfect, right among the weekend markets and the evening Ramadan fast breaking market, with some great, unusual restaurants just a short walk away.
