Alaxis Hotel

The location is great, though there are plenty of other places in the same area. I booked a Twin Room, but it wasn’t available when I checked in. The only choice was a bigger room at a higher price. The bed was lumpy and made me itch. I won’t stay here again.

I woke up late, and the staff came to get me up. It was 12:50, and the hotel let me check out without any hassle or fee. I checked out at 1:05 and still wasn’t charged. I really appreciated their kindness.

The last three days of my KL trip were a mess at this hotel. It was raining when I arrived, so my clothes and things got wet, and the man handling check-in talked a lot and worked very slowly. Once I got to the room, nearly all the lights were out, with just one small light by the bed. I went back downstairs and asked the receptionist, a Bangladesh guy, to check it and move me. He insisted all the rooms were the same, until I told him to go look for himself. He eventually gave me another room. I didn't check the bed straight away because I showered and went shopping. That night I found a really dirty bed cover and a pillowcase that smelled bad. At midnight I had to go down and ask for everything to be changed. The receptionist helped me then, and he was helpful. My earlier hotels in KL had nice, helpful receptionists and no problems. I chose this place because I was leaving from KL Sentral for the airport, but I won't come back. First and last time for me.

At midnight they cut the electricity to the room to make guests check out. I've never come across a policy like that, and it seems ridiculous when guests have paid a deposit. Other hotels usually allow another 30 minutes or even until 1 pm, and late checkout with a fee is often an option. In the worst case, they could deduct the charge from the deposit. This place shouldn't be in the hospitality business.
