Aloft by Marriott Kuala Lumpur Sentral

I was very satisfied with my stay at Aloft KL and felt I got full value for what I paid. The hotel is right above KL Sentral, so it saved a lot of time and meant I didn't need a car to catch my train. It's also connected to Nu shopping mall. The rooms and common areas were very clean. Before check-in, staff replied to my email questions promptly and helped with a room type change. Ain and Kailyn assisted with my requests for a baby cot, extra pillows and other items, and everything I asked for was delivered. They gave us some snacks when we checked in, which was thoughtful, and room service was quick too. Breakfast had a good spread, though the taste was only slightly above average. I especially liked the egg station, where you could get omelettes, soft-boiled eggs, scrambled eggs and other kinds. The food might be better if they reduced the number of options. One downside: I found about 2 supposedly unused coffee cups with stains, so I just used a clean one. I'd definitely stay at Aloft again if I'm back in KL. Marriot Bonvoy member #720410544

The location is the main advantage: the hotel is right beside the central train station, with a second-floor walkway to a shopping mall, so getting around is very convenient. Breakfast was as expected, with local and continental dishes, an egg station, fruit, salad and breads. It was busy around 9AM but manageable. I was here on a business trip and found it comfortable and practical, though not a luxury or particularly memorable stay. My room was spacious and clean, everything worked, the shower pressure was strong, and the US wall plugs were a useful touch for business travelers. Check-in was a bit disappointing because the room wasn't ready at the listed time, so I waited about 10 minutes. As a Titanium member I got a higher-floor upgrade, though it felt modest. At around $80 USD a night, it's decent value for a business trip. For not much more, there are nicer 4-star options downtown.

The buffet itself made my wife very happy, and the atmosphere was lovely. We came to Nook for buka puasa after seeing the Ramadhan buffet ad, to mark our wedding anniversary yesterday, and I’m glad I chose it. The team really looked after us. Stanley, Fatin, Fateha at the Laksa counter, and Nauli (Indonesian) were warm and helpful the whole time, even during the busy fasting month. At the entrance, three or four people welcomed us, and the three women who helped us were especially attentive, though I can’t remember all their names. Nabila, the operator who handled my reservation for two, made booking easy and professional. This is my first Google review. Nothing is perfect, but the care from everyone, including the food station staff, deserves a 10/10 from me. Please pass along my thanks to the team. They did a fantastic job.

The main draw is how close it is to KL Sentral. The KLIA Express terminal is an easy walk away, which makes catching the first airport train convenient. Staff greeted us with smiles and created a warm atmosphere. Our room, though, wasn’t ready when we arrived at 2:30 pm. We waited until 3, and still had no update by 3:20, so I had to ask. We finally got in after 3:30. After a long flight, that was disappointing. The sink also drained slowly, and the toilet and shower share a sliding door that gradually opens by itself, so shower water could run outside. If being near KL Sentral is your priority, this could suit you. Otherwise, for the price, I wouldn’t really recommend it. There are a few things that need improvement.
