Ampang Business Hotel

The room was large and clean, though the toilet was only okay. I’ve stayed in better rooms for less, and this one wasn’t soundproof. I’d say it’s better suited to open-minded people or single guests, rather than families with kids. The two cleaners were foreign men, and one of them was quite good-looking, in case anyone reading this is looking for a husband.

The guys there were nice and helpful, and for around 70-90 RM it’s a decent place to rest. It’s close to local restaurants and a supermarket, which is convenient. Rooms come with air con, a bed, table and chair with a mirror, and a bathroom water heater. Some rooms may not have a wardrobe, and the TV only gets 1 channel.

The location was the worst part. I paid 60 RM for one night, which isn’t the cheapest, though it’s not exactly expensive either. For a solo traveller, the room was good and had everything I needed. The uncle at reception was calm and very polite, and helped me a lot.

I arrived to check in at 10.50PM after making an online booking through agoda. The amount had already been taken from my account, but the booking still showed as pending property apporval. Before I came, I called and explained this. The receptionist said to come in with the booking details and he would reserve the room. When I got there, he changed his answer and said he couldn’t help because he had no access to Agoda. He told me to leave or pay cash like a walk-in customer. I couldn’t cancel through agoda because the booking was non-refundable. When I explained that, he said, “Good for you,” then raised his voice when I complained. I know management may have been closed, but I don’t understand why I couldn’t check in and have someone responsible approve it the next morning. If the hotel can’t handle Agoda bookings, who put the listing there? He wouldn’t listen to suggestions and stayed rude the whole time. The worst hotel receptionist I’ve ever dealt with.
