Axon Bukit Bintang by Janice's Homestay

We had booked two weeks ahead, but when we arrived to check in they said every room was already taken. Apparently they had accepted walk-ins without checking availability. The staff were rude and told us to go to another J hotel in PJ, then left us in the lobby to book and pay for our own Grab. Mind your staff member Syamin. What a terrible service.

One of the worst experiences I've had. The service left me speechless, and I wouldn't give it even one star.

I needed somewhere to freshen up before a late flight after an early checkout, and this worked well. My room smelled fresh, the aircon was good, and the spacious toilet was clean and had a heater. They also provided clean towels and a bar of soap. Handy for storing my baggage before leaving KL.

The aircon in my room didn't work, and when I raised it, I was told nobody else had complained. The bathrooms also looked quite worn, and the hotel itself feels old. There were strange rules about arrival too. Reception said I had to check in exactly at 2 p.m., with a $50 charge if I was late, and an extra fee if I came early. I was also charged a tourism fee despite having an employment pass. I've never paid that elsewhere in Malaysia, and when I asked for a receipt, the receptionist listed it as withholding tax instead.
