Cempaka Apartment Hotel

The room is spacious, well ventilated and on a higher floor, so I enjoyed the view. It can fit more than three people for anyone who doesn’t mind a bit of a squeeze, which feels generous for a quick stay when you want to hop around easily. Parking is a mess. There’s no indoor parking. You might get a spot closer to your room, but if you don’t, be prepared for a walk.

The room is near Maluri station and Aeon, with a supermarket and plenty of food options within walking distance. There’s no fridge, cutlery or utensils, just an electric kettle for hot water. The pool looks under-maintained and has no lifeguard, so swim at your own risk. Otherwise, it’s pretty convenient, especially for the train.

The room was roomy, just like the photos, and the bedding was comfortable enough that we slept well. It could fit up to six people, though you may need to bring your own toto. There’s a microwave and water heater, plus two bottles of water and 3-in-1 coffee, but no fridge, so it won’t suit food that needs chilling. The closet is large but has no hangers. The furniture is a little old, and the bathroom was clean. At check-in I asked for a higher floor and got one. The person handling check-in was okay, though not very talkative, and there’s a RM100 deposit that’s returned at checkout. For parking, you can get free parking on level 5 until 7 with the hotel stamp when you check out at the lobby. The lobby has two entrances, but only one stays open 24 hours; the other closes at 5pm, I think. I arrived at 11pm and could only use one side. There’s a pool on level 8, and you need to ask the lobby for a card clearance to enter the pool area. No one else was there when I went swimming, so use it at your own risk. There’s a separate pool for kids too. The checkout staff at noon was very friendly. Nice place for a short getaway, and the price is cheap for the facilities.

I used to stay here when I had medical business at HUKM. There’s indoor parking, and the view toward Taman Pudu Ulu Recreation Park or AEON Taman Maluri Cheras is nice. But the room price has gone from RM90 to RM168 in 2023, so it doesn’t feel affordable anymore.
