Collection O Bukit Bintang Formerly Midaris

The place feels old, dirty, and cheap, especially for what it costs. There’s an expressway right outside, and getting across it is difficult; public transport, cafes, and restaurants aren’t within walking distance either. My shower head was broken, and the walls were so thin I could hear the neighbours. While I was there, police were called about someone downstairs. The hotel also rents rooms by the hour, and there’s a KTC hostess club next door. It says a lot about the kind of place this is.

This is OYO, and the hotel isn’t called Collection O Bukit Bintang Formerly Midaris. We got a room that didn’t match the one we booked in the photos. When I raised it, the woman at the desk said she wouldn’t do anything to fix it and didn’t apologize. The promised room wasn’t available, the Wi-Fi didn’t work, there was no drinking water or hot water, and it was very noisy. Because of the water problem, they moved me into an even smaller room. I paid for two nights in a large, spacious room and ended up staying in what felt like a storage room. They also charge for room cleaning for reasons I don’t understand. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms are shabby and you can hear everything next door. The location is poor, and the quality is low across the board for a mid-range price. What you pay doesn’t line up with what you get.

At Palette Hotel Malaysia, the room wasn’t clean and the staff behaved very rudely. Breakfast had been promised but never appeared, and management didn’t respond properly when I complained. For the money, this was a very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially with better options nearby.
