Eastern Suites at Platinum KLCC

I’ve been to Kuala Lumpur several times, and this was easily my worst accommodation experience. The staff seemed very unprepared and were rude, especially the person called Zayn. The apartment was filthy, with mold on the walls and a strong urine smell throughout. We found used socks in the wardrobe and a syringe under the sofa. We reported everything right away and asked to move to another unit, even a smaller one, as long as it was clean, but got no proper response. When we asked for cleaning, we were told housekeeping only comes every two days. At 11:30 the next morning, they said we could check out before noon for a refund, giving us only 30 minutes’ notice.

For what we paid, the cleanliness was completely unacceptable. The apartment didn’t seem properly cleaned and felt as though someone had been living there before we arrived. Both bathrooms were in poor shape, with dirty, broken showers. There were stains on the sheets, and a very strong unpleasant smell, like a dead animal.

The rooftop is beautiful, with a pool, and I had a nice stay. The room could use more cleaning and repairs, though, and we only got two towels for three people. There should be extra towels for guests. Only four lifts were working in the whole building, and sometimes we waited 20 minutes to get to the ground floor.

I did love the location, with easy access to food and plenty of other hotels nearby. We managed to find somewhere else, thankfully, instead of paying a lot more for what felt like the worst service at this hotel. Encik Faiz, the person in charge, was very rude and should take a customer service class. When we arrived, he said our room wasn’t available and told us to book another one at a significantly higher price. He didn’t apologize, just said it wasn’t possible, so we had to find a different hotel. After reading other reviews, I realized this had happened to other people too. I wouldn’t recommend booking here if you don’t want your holiday mood spoiled.
