Eaton KLCC Residence by Moonway Luxury Suites

The rooftop pool at sunset was spectacular, the security staff made the residence feel safe, and the taxi and Grab pickup area was very useful. We could walk to KLCC and the Petronas towers. Our room had lovely views and felt open and comfortable, with king-sized beds, modern well-kept bathrooms, a kitchen, shower and bath, and a TV that worked with our PS5. There was enough room to use our VR during downtime, and the washer and dryer saved us from needing laundry services. The kitchen utensils were a little limited, but enough for the cooking we needed. There were a few maintenance items, but they didn't affect the stay, so I sent them directly to the manager. The staff were friendly, professional, supportive, and understanding about a problem we caused. The owner and property manager was kind and professional too, and often checked whether we needed anything. They helped us through that checkout dilemma as well. A wonderful stay, thank you Moonway for letting us enjoy this beautiful room.

We weren't happy with the stay. The staff only told us on arrival that the air conditioning wasn't working, though they'd contacted us before and could have mentioned it then. The room was so hot we sweated even while sitting still. We had to push to get any discount, and even with that, the room cost a tenth of what we'd paid for air conditioning elsewhere. They wouldn't move us, and staff showed little care or effort. Engineers came on the last day of our three-night stay. We were given only two hours' notice and had to return to the apartment because they couldn't reschedule; we didn't want them going through our things. The AC was supposedly fixed, but smelled like a wet cat. After we turned it off, it wouldn't turn back on. The towels smelled awful and were stained. The building elevators were extremely inefficient, taking 5-10 minutes to arrive and stopping many times on the way. The washer-dryer left our clothes damp-smelling and didn't clean properly, and it clearly hadn't been serviced in years.

Their representative (Shohedul) was exxxtremely difficult to reach. He didn't keep his promises, reply to messages, or take calls, which he ignored or rejected. Yet the rates are the highest in the building, at over 1400 MYR a night.

We stayed on the 47th floor of Moonway Luxury Suites, a small collection of floors inside the impressive Eton’s Residence tower in the city center. The standout is the infinity pool on the 51st floor, open until 10 p.m. The Petronas Towers look great from up there, both during the day and lit up at night, and the skyline spreads out in every direction. Finding the suites takes persistence because the building is mainly for permanent residents, and only a few floors, nobody seems sure how many, are run as the boutique-style Moonway Luxury Suites. The entrance is a little confusing. Since it's mostly residential, hotel services are limited, there's no breakfast, and some shared spaces aren't available to short-term guests. Our suite was modern and comfortable. One thing to keep in mind when booking is the lift: its high-speed movement makes a surprising amount of noise, so a room beside it could be a problem for a light sleeper. We slept through it despite jet lag and a long flight. The rooftop pool and sweeping Petronas view made the hunt and the careful room choice worth it, and gave us a memorable start in Kuala Lumpur.
