GDS Sentral Hotel

The employee said he hadn't received our payment. We put the payment confirmation on the table, but he initially ignored it and offered to sell us a room again for cash. Only after a phone call with the owner were we allowed to check in. The room was dirty, so we laid towels over the bed to get some sleep. There were insects everywhere, and the mould in the bathroom was hard to miss. This stay was an absolute impertinence. Please don't book here.

The room was decent, but it was too small and had no windows. For what we paid, breakfast should at least have been included. You have to ask for water, then wait a long time for it. The phone also can’t be used to order food from nearby places, which would be useful for tourists without local phone service. The shower kept going from too hot to too cold, and reception staff sounded as if our calls were bothering them. Their response to what guests needed wasn’t good.

I paid 75RM, so I expected more. The room still had extra long dark hairs around it after housekeeping had serviced it, and I’m sure they weren’t mine. Worse, cleaning staff threw away my belongings, no matter how little they cost, while the front desk seemed not to care. It’s described as very clean, which makes that especially hard to understand.

The room was clean and quite nice, with great air conditioning and an unusually strong hot shower. Finding the place was confusing because it’s run by another hotel company, maybe GDS or something like that. It’s right in Little India, with authentic restaurants and the smells you’d expect there. A front-facing room can be loud because of the Indian music, though it quiets down around 1 or 2 am.
