KL City Lodge

The man was very rude. When I arrived, the owner demanded extra tourist tax even though it was clearly included in my prepayment. It's been a week and I'm still waiting for Agoda to refund me. The owner will rip you off.

The location is a plus. The actual room was very disappointing and looked quite different from the photos on Agoda and other hotel booking sites. There was very little space in the room and bathroom, no proper bathroom door lock or doormat to dry our feet after a shower, and no air-conditioning controller. Customer service was really bad, slow, and irresponsible, with customers not treated as a priority. The housekeeper was better than the receptionist.

I came from far away to relax, but this turned into a terrible experience. I'd booked through Agoda, and at the counter the employee said my room was full and asked for more money for another one. He also said Agoda's price didn't match the hotel's price, which was unreasonable. The staff were arrogant and the service was poor. They wouldn't cancel the reservation, so I had to call Agoda myself and wait up to 2 hours for customer service to sort it out. Agoda said a refund could take 7 days to a month, though luckily mine arrived the next day. I strongly don't recommend this hotel. There are plenty of better places around, so don't fall for this trick.

I booked 3 nights, but stayed for just over 2 hours. The room was the untidiest I've ever experienced: dirty bedsheets and pillowcases, a dirty toilet, noisy air conditioning, and I could hear everything from next door. Finding a cockroach in the bed really shook me. The photos are very different from the actual place. I didn't get a refund because I paid by credit card and the booking was non-refundable. I don't care about the money I lost, but even those 2 hours in the lodge were a nightmare. Find a decent hotel, even if it costs a bit more.
