Lotus Hotel Masjid India

Masjid Jamek LRT station is about 25 seconds from the hotel, and as an interchange it makes getting to places like Bukit Bintang and KLCC easy. There are two mosques nearby, along with a local market selling clothes, cosmetics and accessories, a large MyDin grocery, cheap local restaurants, an RHB branch, and a bus station. My room was 510, and it didn’t have a view of the adjacent River of Life, though some other rooms have beautiful views. I stayed nearly 15 days and had a great time in Kuala Lumpur. The hotel was very clean throughout, from the rooms, floors, linens, pillows and toilets to the elevator, stairs, and other areas. Staff were polite and helpful, and smiled whenever I came or went. There’s a free iron on every floor, plus free biscuits, coffee, a kettle, tea, and one small bottle of water each day. I recommend it if you’re looking for clean, proper accommodation at a good price and location in Kuala Lumpur.

I’d recommend Lotus Hotel in the Masjid India area for a comfortable stay. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and the service was the best part of my experience.

John at check-in was polite, professional, and welcoming, and we appreciated his help. Sadly, our check-out experience was very different. My friend and I had an emergency and asked to check out at 12:15 PM. Reception told us rudely that even one extra minute wasn’t possible. At 11:55 AM, we politely asked for just five more minutes, until 12:05 PM, and the female receptionist snapped “Fast” at us in a harsh, scolding tone. We felt insulted and uncomfortable as guests. Hotel rules can be enforced respectfully, but this staff member showed neither courtesy nor professionalism while we were dealing with an emergency. We believe this kind of behavior damages the hotel’s reputation, and ask management to take appropriate action and consider moving her out of guest-facing duties. We hope they take this seriously and improve staff behavior for future guests.

The price was around RM96-RM138, including tax, and the service was very good for that range. It’s close to Masjid Jamek LRT station, so getting around is easy. The staff were polite and humble.
