Mercu Summer Suite at Edrea Homes

Getting to Kuala Lumpur's main attractions and key areas was easy from Mercu Summer Suites, and that was one of the biggest pluses. Our suite was spacious and comfortable, with the essentials like an induction cooktop, a living area, and a balcony with great views. The pool and other facilities were nice too. The one tiring part was arriving early in the morning after a long journey and having to wait until around 2 PM for a room, even though official check-in was 3 PM. Aside from that, we had a great stay and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur.

The apartment was spacious, tidy, clean enough, and nice and quiet. It could use a deeper clean in places, especially the fridge and shower room. I couldn't figure out the induction stove to make scrambled eggs, so I bought food and had to leave it in the fridge. The full kitchen, washing machine, balcony, pool, and gym were all handy. Downstairs there are lots of convenience stores and coffee places, and it's an easy walk to the Petronas towers. Check-in was simple, with just a RM 100 deposit. I booked Diamond Suites KL and had an amazing stay. I'd come back.

The owner later clarified that this is more like a rented room than a hotel, which was a bit confusing. He was very nice, though, and gave us a late checkout for free. The kids were really disappointed that the pool was closed for cleaning for 4 out of the 3 days we stayed. Our room on the 29th floor looked shabby and wasn't very clean. The cutlery didn't match, there were only 3 glasses for 4 people, and just 2 towels for 3 of us. The air conditioning worked fine, but the beds were hard and had no extra protection. It smelled of cleaning detergent. We never used the washing machine, though having it was a plus. Our first impression was a bit dodgy. Check-in was supposed to be available until 23:00, but when we arrived at 22:00 nobody was in the lobby. We'd just come from the airport and had no Wi-Fi or Malaysian SIM card, but a friendly guide helped us.

There's a 24-hour supermarket in the lobby and coffee shops in the same building, plus restaurants and transport are easy to get to. The location is great, with the Petronas Towers within walking distance. Our room was roomy and clean, just like the photos, and the balcony view was lovely. It made for a great staycation. Definitely recommend it.
