Starpoints Hotel Kuala Lumpur

We came with a group of five families in June-26, and the attitude of staff from reception to housekeeping was awful. The breakfast counter was run like a boarding school. The food was average, and the woman in charge kept walking around watching what guests were eating. The receptionist lacked communication skills, and treated guests very badly. Most amenities weren’t working properly. When we asked for help, the receptionist acted as though we were staying for free. The worst place to stay with family!

Our tour agent booked Star Point Hotel for my family this month, and we didn’t have many other options. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful with guests, which I appreciated. The rooms, though, were in very poor condition, and the hotel’s maintenance was disappointing. Even the bathroom door locks didn’t work properly. Despite the staff’s good service, I wouldn’t recommend it for a family stay because of the state of the rooms and facilities.

The location is convenient and very good, but the room upkeep needs a lot of work. The beds were dirty and seemed not to have been changed properly. Even after several days, basic items like soap and shampoo weren’t regularly replenished, so we had to keep using the same supplies. Reception service was disappointing too. The transgender staff member, described as a “Lady boy,” was not welcoming or helpful, which affected the stay.

The café was a highlight: the staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. There was a good variety of food, and it was fresh, tasty, well prepared, and nicely presented. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the hotel felt welcoming from the moment I arrived. Everything was well organized, and I really enjoyed my stay. Good accommodation and café service made it memorable. I’d recommend the hotel and look forward to returning.
