I booked with low expectations because of the bad reviews, then was genuinely surprised by how good the hotel was. Check-in was smooth, and the key-card entrance felt like a nice security feature. There’s a lift, and the hallway was spotless with a fresh floor-cleaner smell. My room was great too, with no cockroaches or broken AC like earlier guests had mentioned. The bathroom was squeaky clean, the shower head worked properly with no blocked holes, and there were fresh towels and basic toiletries. It’s set back from the main street, so it was quiet. For such a cheap price, I was very satisfied and would recommend it.

I ended up leaving at 4am and canceling my plans for the next day. The manager’s WhatsApp reply to my refund request was arrogant and dismissive, and the whole experience felt like a waste of time. It started with a musty smell in the first room. Then I spotted a baby cockroach on the table, and the receptionist told me to sweep it away with a piece of paper. They changed my room only reluctantly. The new one was quieter and smelled fresh, but at 4am the A/C stopped working. The next receptionist insisted it worked, just “slowly.” The fan was tiny, I couldn’t feel it, and I was sweating badly. They wouldn’t move me again, saying they were fully booked and had already lost money on the first room change.

A basic hotel, but very clean, with friendly staff and quiet, peaceful surroundings. It’s under new owners now, so the old bad reviews no longer seem to apply. The price is very economical and worth it for a peaceful night. No hanky hanky business.

In Room 120, for 22-23 Dec, I couldn’t get a receipt for the 50MYR deposit at check-in because the printer was broken. The booking site showed a city view, but the room had no window, and the door latch was broken so it couldn’t be locked securely. There was no WiFi or mobile network in the room, even though I use the best mobile coverage plan in Malaysia. I was told I couldn’t change rooms because they were all fully booked. The only positives were a lift and a water dispenser.
