The crowds are the main drawback here. Check-in was hectic in the small lobby, and with so many guests, the lifts can take a while. We also found an unpleasant smell in the lobby, though we couldn't tell if it came from sewage or the air freshener. Still, the location is hard to beat. The hotel is tucked behind Bukit Bintang, with major malls, shops, and plenty of places to eat an easy walk away. The building opened in 2023, and our room felt clean and new, though it was small, as were the double beds. The bridge to Axon Residences on the 37th floor leads to the pool, and the KL views from there and from higher-floor rooms are especially lovely at night. The bathroom is cramped and gets hot and stuffy without air conditioning. Its small window opens only a little and doesn't help much. We also noticed lots of large tour groups from China, and many guests didn't speak English. That sometimes made check-in, check-out, and luggage storage slower, since most staff seemed to speak mainly Malay and English. While we waited for our Grab driver, we helped a few guests explain their requests to staff. The location is excellent, but the rooms and facilities feel small, and the place can get very crowded.

I'd book Sleeping Lions again when I'm back in KL. It was a pleasant stay, and I can see why it's a three-star hotel. The building looks grand from outside, while inside it's compact and simple. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view was nice. A few things didn't work well. The shower heater had some issue, and even with five elevators, waits could be a few minutes, especially in the daytime when lots of people were using them. The TV had nothing to watch, and Netflix and YouTube wouldn't work because the Wi-Fi apparently wasn't connecting. Apart from those problems, it was a really good hotel.

The rooftop pool might be closed at times, so check the notices first. I also wasn't sure whether I received the Superior Grand category I chose on Agoda. The room was clean, had the amenities I needed, and was serviced well each day. Although the hotel was busy and fairly full, I didn't personally run into major check-in or elevator delays like some reviews describe. It's easy to walk to Bukit Bintang's lively shopping and food area, as well as underground and other train stations. The neighborhood stays active at night. For the price, I'd recommend the hotel, though if you want to be right in KL city center and reach major areas faster, this spot may be a little less convenient.

Even when the hotel is busy, the staff kept things running well. The concierge, security, and reception teams seemed organized and responsive, and service stayed efficient during peak periods. There can be long queues for check-in and the lifts, probably because the hotel is so popular and priced competitively compared with similar hotels in prime Jakarta locations. We stayed five days and four nights with my extended family and had a very pleasant time. The room was relatively spacious for its class and comfortable for a family. The gym was good, and the infinity pool had a beautiful view over Kuala Lumpur's city center. Pavilion, MRT stations, and TRX Mall are all within walking distance, with plenty of food options and convenience stores nearby. Great value and location, and I'd recommend it.
