The Chow Kit - an Ormond Hotel

The breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the staff were friendly, attentive and really tried to meet our needs. Breakfast service could be quicker, though: we came down at 6:50am one morning hoping to eat early, but the food wasn't ready until around 7:40am. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a great view of the main road. I did wish the toilet had a bidet, and there was a slightly musty smell in the Level 3 hallway outside our room. The decor and ambience are lovely, with a charming nostalgic feel that made it seem like stepping back in time. We genuinely loved the hotel and would happily return, either to stay or just eat at the restaurant. I'd recommend it.

Our room, 311, had a lovely view of the flowing traffic, which I actually found quite therapeutic, and we slept peacefully each night. We chose this boutique hotel for almost a week in KL because of the area's history and its award-winning status. It was part of our wedding anniversary, and we appreciated the hotel's extra effort. The staff were warm and welcoming. Nailin greeted us with a smile and looked after us at breakfast each morning, and Kalai made a wonderful cup of coffee. The coffee here is great, and the cocktails were amazing too. One small mishap kept me from giving it five stars. I didn't realize the iron was stained, possibly because a previous guest had burned the ironing board. It marked my white shirt, and I spent a frantic time trying to remove or hide the stain before dinner, which was disrupted. I let the hotel know so it wouldn't catch the next guest out. I'd still gladly stay another night and visit again.

We had a very nice stay, and the breakfast and coffee were good. The location is great too. Everyone, from the door man to management, was helpful, courteous and kind. When an issue came up, they dealt with it promptly and were eager to help. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed in the Towkay Soh suite, which had a distinctive vibe and style. The other rooms are almost a third of the suite's size, but they look beautiful too. The suite was spotless, though we did spot a couple of rose petals from the previous guest. Since it was Valentine's Day, we could excuse that. The shower pressure was just decent, and there's no bidet in the bathroom. Housekeeping responded quickly when called, which was great. The food at chow kit kitchen on the ground floor is highly recommended. This is one of the best boutique hotels you could pick in KL.
