The Explorers Guesthouse and Hostel

I've never stayed in such a disgusting hotel. It was dark and damp, with an eerie feel to it. The room smelled awful and the beds were filthy. The photos on Agonda looked nothing like the actual place. Front desk staff spoke very poor English. Don't stay here.

I had to leave at 3 AM with nowhere to go and no booking, even though I’d paid for two nights and the second one couldn’t be refunded. I’d woken up feeling bites and movement on my skin, then checked with my phone light and saw bedbugs on the bed. I packed in a panic and asked reception to move me or offer any solution. They did nothing, and wouldn’t refund or compensate me, or even apologize. The place was filthy and the staff seemed not to care. This felt unsafe and completely unacceptable. There are better, cheaper hostels around Chinatown. Avoid this place.

There’s no kitchen, so you can’t cook or heat up food here. The room itself was roomy, though, and the bed was comfortable.

The hostel was fine, but I felt uneasy leaving my luggage in storage. They don’t give you anything to identify which bags are yours.
