The Hulo Hotel Gallery

The room was so poorly insulated that road noise and sounds from outside came through clearly, making it hard to rest. We were also given just one towel. We asked reception twice for another and were told it would be brought to the room, but it never arrived. The first room was untidy and dirty, and the replacement wasn't clean either. Its floor was sticky and dusty; when I wiped it with a wet tissue, the tissue turned brown.

The name was confusing from the start: Hulo on the outside, Kingston inside, with no clear sign that it was Kingston Hotel 4, which made booking online confusing. When we arrived, they said my reservation was missing, so I had to rebook a smaller, cramped room that looked nothing like the photos. The window lock was broken, there was no AC remote, and staff wouldn't help until the next day. They use a password to unlock the door instead of a key card, which made getting back in inconvenient and felt insecure. There was no room service: no fresh linens or water, and cleaning was only done for new guests. At checkout they refused to refund our deposit until we insisted they check the CCTV footage, which showed their mistake. Kingston (Hulo) Hotel was a complete disappointment, with mismanagement, misleading information, and poor service. It falls short on hospitality, honesty, and basic service. If you expect cleanliness, professionalism, or basic security, stay away.

There were ants everywhere, even though I was on the 4th floor. The Wi-Fi was sloooooow, the walls were thin, and squeaky doors kept slamming at all hours. On arrival they also charged an extra "tourist tax," even though the online bill said it included all fees and taxes.

Don't trust the pictures. The place is outdated and a mess, and the common area is never clean. The washer-dryer is broken and smelly, and I could smell cigarette smoke inside my room. Management is awful, with no security or amenities at all. Electricity is prepaid, so they control the meter and will finesse you. You'll keep loading it even when you're not using power. Beware!
