I’ve rented here for years, and I’ve been treated unfairly by the security guard before. The underground parking card sensor often doesn’t detect my card, so I need the guard to open the gate. He knows I rent a parking space, but usually just stares instead of helping. This morning I was in a rush and stuck at the resident gate. He deliberately delayed, then opened the visitor lane instead of helping me. The head of security, one of the so-called Indian managers, is also extremely rude and unprofessional, acts as if he owns the property, and keeps causing inconvenience to residents. One complaint might be personal, but more than one resident has complained about the same staff member, which points to a staff issue. I strongly urge management to take this seriously and make proper corrections. Otherwise, I’ll consider sharing what happened publicly on social media so residents and future tenants know about the service quality.

The pool is long and well looked after. It can get a little busy at weekends, but I’ve never seen it overcrowded. In the six months I’ve been here, there haven’t been any pool parties or anything like that, so don’t be put off by some of the other reports. Apartments differ in size, decor, and cost, so shop around. One side looks over KLCC Park towards the Twin Towers, while the lower apartments get traffic noise. Overall, it’s a very good apartment block.

ViPod Residence is a relatively cheap place to live in the KLCC area, with a great spot near both KLCC and Bukit Bintang and an Instagrammable skyline view from the rooftop. A few things to keep in mind: pool and gym access requires paid membership, each parking space is small and not really suited to a large SUV or van, and there’s no breakfast service since this isn’t a hotel. The staff can be quite unfriendly too. This residence doesn’t allow short stays such as Airbnb because of guests’ unethical behavior, though some irresponsible tenants still manage to list units there. It’s one of the cheapest luxury condos you can find in KLCC, and I’d recommend it as a place to live.

The location is the clear advantage of living at Vipod. Pavilion is about a three-minute walk, Suria KLCC about ten minutes, and TRX around fifteen. I lived here for three years and am moving out, and I want to share a fuller picture than the location-focused reviews. Daily living has been affected by weak water pressure, especially mornings and evenings. It’s hard to use water in two places at once: two people can’t shower at the same time, and running the kitchen tap while someone showers cuts the flow significantly. A handyman told me this is common across many units. Ventilation between units is poor too, so neighboring smells come in. Cigarette smoke at night is common, and durian smells can drift in during the season. The air-conditioning cools poorly even after regular maintenance and repairs, and rooms often don’t get cool enough even at the lowest setting, which is uncomfortable in Kuala Lumpur’s climate. Our family of three paid around RM800-RM1,000 a month for electricity, likely because the air-conditioning units are old. Dust also builds up quickly around the vents, sometimes making visible piles within a week. There are other inconveniences around the building. Gym and pool access costs RM270/month or RM40 per visit, and that feels high for the limited equipment. Some users leave equipment scattered, and staff rarely step in. The underground parking card sensor often fails, so residents may need a guard to open the gate. Deliveries stop at the guardhouse outside. When it rains, the pedestrian gate is so narrow you have to close your umbrella to get through and often get wet. The parking ramp is very narrow, so larger vehicles need care. There’s no clear entrance sign, and Grab drivers often get confused and stop at the Sushi Oribe entrance instead. The head of security is extremely rude and intimidating, and residents and guests have made multiple complaints. Rooftop access is limited: gym members enter free, non-members pay RM20 per visit, and it closes at 10pm. Nearby buildings block most KLCC fireworks views, except from some units in Tower A. Traffic in front is often heavy, and the road may close during large events at KL Convention Centre. The sink is about 78 cm high, lower than standard and possibly uncomfortable for taller residents. The bathtub takes over 30 minutes to fill, and the water is lukewarm by then. The master bedroom toilet and shower have glass walls facing the bedroom, an unusual design choice. Vipod has an outstanding KLCC-area location, but the ventilation, very weak water pressure, air-conditioning, and some management practices make everyday living harder. These are points to know before deciding to live here.

The swimming pool is wonderful, and the place is right in central KL near the city’s main sights. That’s about all it has going for it. There are no services or breakfast, and it feels expensive for what you get.
