The ceiling in my room had algae and visible plant roots, which made the place feel badly neglected. Courtyard@TC seemed like an old, abandoned building that had been cheaply refurbished for guests, and the price felt high for what was offered. Inside, the bathroom was dirty, moldy in the shower, and had a constant foul smell. Bare copper pipes looked unsafe, since touching one could burn you from the hot water. The bedding was stained and seemed as if it hadn't been changed in weeks. Furniture was cheap plywood, and the nightstand was broken and wobbly. There were hardly any amenities, and the room felt unsanitary. The walls were grimy and covered in mold, as in the attached photo. From arrival, the condition of the property was shocking, and basic upkeep and hygiene clearly seemed neglected. My stay at Courtyard at TC was dreadful. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, and would tell people to choose somewhere else. One of the worst places I've stayed.

The location is the one good thing, about four minutes from the beach, but there are plenty of other hotels nearby. The toilet was extremely dirty, and the pillows were covered in mold. There was no hot water in the bathroom on our first day, so I had to take a cold shower. The counter lady wasn't even there. This was the worst hotel I've stayed at, with no real service. Don't stay here.

The staff were friendly both in person and on WhatsApp, and parking was free on the hotel property or along the street. I really liked the natural, traditional minimalist look and the lighting. It's a budget hotel, so keep expectations realistic, but I loved my stay and would book again. Definitely recommend it. The window seals could be better to keep out the beach music events, though it wasn't too bad.

The big downside was getting to sleep. A live band behind the hotel played and sang loudly from after 10:30 pm until 3 am, and it was hard to tune out. Our room was spacious, with two Queen beds, and was clean and comfortable. The look was minimalist, almost industrial. The showerhead was close to ceiling height, but the water pressure was very good and I got a proper rinse. There should be hooks for towels and clothes. The beach is easy to reach, and there are lots of food options within walking distance.

The Nasi Lemak at breakfast was really good, and the service was great. The room was nice and comfortable for friends or family, but bring your own toiletries. There's no soundproofing, so we could hear kids playing at 1 am and people talking outside. You can walk to the beach and nearby places like McD, KFC, and Starbucks, which makes the location amazing.
