A simple, affordable homestay in Kuantan, close to the city centre and plenty of nice restaurants. It’s easy to get around from here, and I’d recommend it if you want a straightforward place to stay. There’s a water dispenser, washing machine, microwave, iron and ironing board, TV with limited Astro access, Wi-Fi, hot water, and a tub.
We came back for a second visit and stayed one night in the Jacuzzi room. It really does have a jacuzzi, though it’s a small bathtub. The room has Astro and Wi-Fi, and the shared area includes a stove, washing machine with detergent, TV, water dispenser, fridge, dining table, and an automatic-lock door. Parking is plentiful too. The room is cozy but not very spacious. Two people fit well, three would be manageable, four would feel crowded, and anything beyond that sounds like sardines or a rave party.
The bed was so comfortable, and everything was clean. For RM100, getting a jacuzzi felt like such a deal, and you can see the sky from the tub, which was really romantic. The service was amazing too. I loved the place and would definitely book again if I come back. I’d give it 100 if I could.
I stayed at W inn Kuantan for one night to celebrate my birthday, but the experience became miserable after my partner and I were bitten by what we believe were bed bugs in Room GG. We both had itchy bites, rashes, and scars all over our bodies. I reported it to the host. The host initially called to apologize and offered either a refund or compensation for the medical bills. I chose the medical bill option. When we submitted bills totaling RM130.50 for two people, the host refused to pay and said their B'N'B had never had a bed bug issue, telling us to contact the Air B'n'B Center. They sent photos and a video of the bed to say no bugs were found, which was ridiculous. I was very disappointed with how they handled it, so I contacted Air B'N'B and asked the host to provide the Pest Control Report showing that no bed bugs had been found. The photos sent after the pest control inspection appeared to show a different room, not the one I stayed in. The room we had was windowless, but the photos showed windows. When I questioned this, they just told me to refer to the report. The report then specifically highlighted the door for Room GG. I spoke to the Pest Control Manager and asked whether the inspection had been carried out with integrity. He wasn’t sure and directed me back to the host, who avoided the issue and did not reply. There were too many holes in their story. In the end, I received neither a refund nor reimbursement for the medical bills. Mr Wong was not helpful or accommodating. I won’t stay at any of their BNBs in Malaysia again. Before booking, take a look through the other customer reviews; there’s some interesting feedback there.
