Meriton Inn Hotel

The bathroom looked almost new, and I was surprised by how clean it was. The staff were friendly and helpful, and despite a few issues, it was a pleasant hotel for a short stay. The room was a bit small, the door wouldn’t shut properly, and there were still some coffee stains.

The reception staff were polite and friendly, though they spoke only a little English. WiFi was stable, and there was plenty of parking beside the hotel. Three car wash shops are next door. Swan Seafood Restaurant is about a 5-8 minute walk, and Popular East Coast Mall is around 15-18 minutes away. We paid RM270.81 for two nights after a 20% credit card discount and booked through Agoda. Our third-floor room at the front had no traffic noise, but the soundproofing between rooms was poor. We could clearly hear the next room’s door opening and closing, and sometimes people talking in rooms or the corridor. The room was clean and big enough for two, though there wasn’t much space to hang clothes. The lift lobby and corridor smelled of vomit. The aircon was powerful and cold. The shower area was an okay size and drained well, but water pressure was low and the whole bathroom floor got wet after showering. Only one face towel was provided. Breakfast was simple and filling, but had no selection or variety.

Badawi at reception was a gem, so friendly and sweet. This place is just right for a business traveler who needs somewhere to spend the night. Check the price with the hotel directly after looking on booking.com or trips.com.

The receptionist was really friendly, and I appreciated that. The room was small, though fairly clean. The beds weren’t clean and we got bitten by mites. The super king was actually two single beds pushed together. I won’t visit again. Thanks again to the receptionist.
