Rocana Hotel

I stayed in room 314 from 27/1/2026 to 28/1/2026, and it was very disappointing. The bathroom felt like a “tiger show,” which was embarrassing, and I saw people showering. The phone didn’t work because its wires were broken, the kettle was broken too, and the air conditioner monitor wasn’t visible. I complained around 9 p.m. and was told to change rooms while I was still out. This room really isn’t suitable for a family. I have photographic evidence and hope the hotel acts immediately.

Breakfast was one of the best parts, with fried rice and noodles, porridge, toast, nuggets, sausages, baked beans and more. The machine had hot drinks such as white coffee, cappuccino and Milo, and the orange juice tasted fresh, almost like Marigold’s quality. The staff were warm from the moment we arrived, and check-in was smooth. Our room was beautiful and spacious, with a comfortable, supportive mattress and fluffy pillows. I even got three pillows for a single bed, which was a nice surprise. The sheets and towels looked a bit worn, but they were clean and smelled fresh, so it didn’t bother me. The TV had plenty of channels, and I liked having a hair dryer in the room. Ironing meant going out into the corridor, which wasn’t convenient. The bathroom was large and well kept, though the shower sprayed water everywhere and the pressure wasn’t smooth. Still manageable. I was there recently for a company event and was really happy with the stay. I’d come back to Kuantan if I get the chance.

Pretty disappointing. This is meant to be a mid-tier hotel, but they don’t even provide basic things like an iron or a toothbrush. You can find much better options in kuantan for the same price, and even budget hotels offer more.

Check-in and check-out were quick, and the staff were smiling, which was the good part. But the sheets and towels smelled old and musty, like things at my grandparents’ house that haven’t been changed in 30 years. The sheets were stained, as shown in the picture, and wooden panels were chipping and coming apart. I didn’t expect standards this low from “the best business hotel in Kuantan”. The neighboring rooms were noisy, with people coming and going and doors banging shut. There’s no soundproofing.
