Big Apple Hotel

Parking outside isn't free, you have to pay MPKK. The room was meant for two, but there was just one coffee cup, so my friend and I had to share. There was no toilet paper, the room wasn't very clean, and the only mirror was in the bathroom. The receptionist also didn't mention that the walk-in price might be cheaper than booking online before I paid. Hope they improve. Thanks.

The hotel feels new, with fresh-looking amenities, friendly staff, cheap rates and strong Wi-Fi. The basic TV channels came through clearly too. But my room had no toilet roll or holder, and the coffee cup was tiny. There was a cockroach in the bathroom, the toilet bowl had a backflow issue, and I found a bit of poop at the bottom when I checked in, so housekeeping needs to do better. The air conditioner sits right above the bed, and I woke up sweating. Parking is another hassle: the roads are narrow and you need a coupon, with officers checking two or three times a day.

The property is nice and well located, and our room was clean with comfortable beds. Reception staff were pleasant, but management should look at their local knowledge and communication with guests. They didn't seem to know what was happening around the area, and should get Malaysian staff. At night, cockroaches came out in our ground-floor room. My wife couldn't sleep. We told reception the next morning, and they smiled and said we should stay on the third floor next time. Sadly, the hotel has a lift. It seems staff aren't passing guest complaints to management, and management should keep a closer eye on this new property.

Fine for a short stay. The room was spacious, cheap at MYR70 for a single bed, and there was plenty of parking. The toilet bowl wasn't clean, though, and the fan in the bathroom was noisy.
