The pool was full of algae, and the hotel cuts the electricity every day from 10am to 12pm. When we asked about activities, staff said the massage therapist was on holiday, and the kayak was broken. Our complaints didn't seem to matter to them. The bathroom was filthy, the shower pressure too low to bathe properly, and the toilet wouldn't flush because the pressure was so weak. The jacuzzi was rusty. There was a gap between the bathroom floor and bedroom floor, and I was afraid insects or animals could get in. In the room, everything was dusty. The tables and chairs were decaying and moldy, the wardrobe was broken and moldy, and the fridge was covered in stains. The bed linen was dusty and dirty; I got itchy after lying down and wondered if there were bed bugs. The door was hard to lock because the key was rusty. The power socket came loose when I tried to unplug my charger, which felt dangerous. My friend and I stayed one night, then had to give up the rest of our package and move to Summer Bay Resort. The hotel wasn't like what its website showed. The facilities were run down and dirty everywhere. I wouldn't waste money staying here, and the photos I took show what the place is really like. It doesn't deserve even one star.

There were bugs flying toward the lights at night, which could bother some people. We stayed in a budget room, and it was comfortable and clean enough. The buffet was decent too, with plenty of choices and a good mix of local and international food. The staff were friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable.

We left after just one night and went to D' Coconut instead, despite having booked and paid for three nights. The roof leaked the whole time, and staff said it couldn't be fixed until after monsoon season. The sink leaked too. Our bed had sand on it when we arrived, so we assumed it hadn't been changed, and both the bed and room smelled awful. The rooms were all old, musty, and rusty. Housekeeping was practically nonexistent. I had to supervise and tell someone to make the bed and clear the cobwebs. They only swept a little, didn't mop, and took out the trash. I had to ask repeatedly for basics like water and replacement floor mats. The resort also seemed badly understaffed: one person at reception and one handling the whole dive and recreation center. There wasn't anything to do. They had no trips to Redang because their only boat had capsized. I was told they were close to bankruptcy and the bank had seized all but four rooms, which might explain why management didn't seem to care. Even when the place was full, staff were severely underpaid. It felt as though management had given up and was deliberately letting the resort fall apart. You might as well stay in a tent.

The island's lovely, with white sand, clear water, and beautiful scenery. I saw fish and baby sharks while swimming. The resort is old and dated, but the service was good, and the kitchen food was delicious.

The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, and the staff were accommodating and did a good job during our stay a few days ago. The resort reopened after being closed for years because of the pandemic, and I think management is doing its best to serve guests. The rooms still need a lot of work overall, especially the bathrooms. The bar is closed too, perhaps because of a staff shortage. They need substantial refurbishment to compete with the nearby resort, just a few hundred meters away.
