BOBI's Cafe Backpackers Hostel

A very basic double room with a shared bathroom, but good value and the staff were friendly. The windows in our room wouldn’t shut all the way. The hostel felt dirty, especially the shared kitchen, though it was okay as a simple place to sleep.

The room has air conditioning, but no windows that open. The bunks squeaked and the pillows were hard. Toast with jam and water were provided for breakfast, and there’s one Asian toilet and one western one. There are lots of friendly cats about, and sometimes a little dog. The location is okay, around a 20-minute walk from Cenang Beach and close to restaurants. The guy working there was nice, but the woman came into the room to clean while we were sleeping and woke us up. She wasn’t very nice, and if that didn’t wake you, the noise from reception might. It’s a below-average, low-budget hostel. I’d only recommend it if you’re on an extremely tight budget, and for no more than two nights.

The bed was comfortable and the dorm rooms were clean. But there were only two showers for two dorm rooms, and one had a badly fitted curtain that made it unusable. There was just one international toilet and one squat toilet as well. Bags weren’t allowed in the dorms to prevent bed bugs, which made getting ready difficult.

Really cheap, with friendly, professional staff, and the rooms were cleaned every day. The AC and wifi worked very well, and there’s a living room and kitchen. The neighbors are AWESOME! It’s a 15-minute walk to the beach. I’d stay forever haha. Same owner than Arma hostel.
