A quiet, beautiful place to unwind while visiting Langkawi. The family is friendly, and the location works well for trips to the beach, waterfalls, and viewpoints. There are shops nearby too. I’d highly recommend it.

The beds are pretty basic, but I loved being surrounded by nature. There are monkeys, geese, cats, dogs, and even huge lizards around the guesthouse. The family hosting us, especially the kids, were lovely and helpful. Breakfast is included in the price.

The washrooms were tidy and well equipped, Wi-Fi worked most of the time, and there’s free drinking water downstairs. I don’t enjoy air conditioning, and I found the house quite comfortable without it. I didn’t see mosquitoes, though I did feel a few mild bites in the dark; once I put up the mosquito net, I slept well. A rooster woke me first in the morning, then the ducks. Breakfast included a boiled duck egg. It felt like staying in a village or forest home, with playful kittens, ducks, and cute kids. We felt like part of the family. Shawn and Fauzia (sorry if I got the names wrong) were very friendly and helpful hosts. It’s one of my most memorable hostel stays.

The guesthouse is right in the jungle, just outside the nearest local village, and it really feels like a jungle stay. The drive up the hill might make you wonder if you’ve gone the wrong way, but once you arrive, there’s a view across Kuala Teriang and the ocean.
