Camar Resort Langkawi

My husband and I spent four days at Camar for our anniversary. The rooms were clean and lovely, and we appreciated the professional staff and the quiet atmosphere. Nobody disturbed us, and the calm setting would suit families or couples looking to avoid noisy groups and a busy pool. I’d suggest keeping the pool open until 9 pm. It’s hard to get a swim in during the evening after watching the sunset at the beach.

The whole stay at Camar Resort was frustrating, especially for the price and the resort standard they claim to offer. We booked two lagoon rooms, and the slow, drawn-out check-in was unpleasant from the start. There was no proper room service, and no drinking water in the rooms, which was shocking for a resort. They asked for multiple deposits. We understand a room deposit, but separating the tourism tax from the total charge felt inconvenient and poorly managed. Checkout dragged too, because they insisted on inspecting the room before returning the deposit. We’ve never had that happen at a four- or five-star hotel. They also charged RM15 for a towel stain, which felt petty and unreasonable. The service didn’t meet the standard of a comfortable or enjoyable stay. We left dissatisfied and frustrated. We won’t return and definitely don’t recommend this resort.

We stayed six nights and honestly, I’d be happy to come back. The room was clean, and the staff were very helpful, bringing what we asked for as soon as we requested it. The pool was extremely clean. Breakfast was an open buffet with the same choices each morning, but the food was tasty and there were plenty of options.

The rooms were amazing and very spacious. Shafiqullah, the bartender at the poolside bar, was great and knew how to mix a perfect cocktail. Still, the breakfast choices were the same every day, and the pool could be better placed nearer the beach. It also feels limiting that the pool and beach bars close at 8 pm. The rooms are lovely, but breakfast and the pool need improvement.
