The bungalow room was clean, nicely sized, and the bed was very comfortable. It's tucked into a small alley, so the setting is quiet, while the main road is close for restaurants, shops, and the beach. The girls at reception were friendly and helpful. It would be useful to have more than one tube of shower gel from the start, since one doesn't last long for two people. More hangers and a hairdryer would also be appreciated.

The garden setting was pleasant, and the staff were friendly. The bungalows are spacious and mostly clean, but I didn't feel the room was worth the high-season price I paid through Agoda. It was about $50 a night including taxes and fees, while I felt it was more in the $30+ range. I understand high season brings higher prices, though. The location was okay, but getting to the beach took a bit of walking. The main problem was the air conditioning. The room stays hot for a long time in the daytime, perhaps because of the metal roof or the unit itself, then gets very cold at night with the AC running. Other issues were weaker WiFi and street traffic noise. Staff warned me about street dogs at check-in, but I didn't have trouble with them and didn't see them much.

The villa was great, and I really liked the house. Getting there was easy, service was great, and check-in went smoothly. The staff were so friendly.

We had rainstorms while we were here, and listening to the rain on the tin roof from bed was heavenly. The bungalows make a cute little oasis just off the main drag. Local street dogs have a wrestling match in the courtyard most nights. My husband and I found it charming and had a laugh about it, though I can see how someone might prefer the Ritz down the street and its $600 price. The place was clean, the sheets crisp, the water hot, and the AC cold. If you expect to leave the AC running all day and have the room cool immediately, that's just part of traveling in SE Asia. Mosquitoes were the one real complaint, but keeping the bathroom and front doors closed took care of it. The location is ideal, with a short walk to the beach and everything nearby, from coffee to a few beers for the deck. The service was fantastic across housekeeping, reception, and security. The people were the nicest and most accommodating on the island. They helped us find a car and a mangrove tour at a good price. My husband and I have been traveling SE Asia for eight months, and I rarely leave reviews, but you won't find better at this price. I hope we get to stay again.
