Room cleaning was done daily, which was good. This is an okay budget hotel, though the photos can be deceptive and make it look shinier and more polished than it really is. We had to cook our own breakfast. The toilet is separate from the bathroom within the room, and it has no proper ventilation. Walking to chenang Beach was a bit exhausting.

The staff were courteous, smiling, and helpful, and reception was available 24/7. My room was spacious, with a window over hills, paddy terrace, and trees that let in natural light. The facilities were adequate: separate shower and toilet, two indoor sandals, working aircond, decent WIFI, comfortable enough bed and bedding for a solo traveler, and strong water pressure with hot showers. They gave me an extra pillow free, and the wall had lots of hooks for clothes or a bag. There’s also space by reception to dry wet clothes and an outdoor sink for washing. The open-air common lounge was nice for relaxing, reading the newspaper, or having a BBQ. Breakfast was free, but guests have to cook it themselves in the outdoor kitchen there. A few things were disappointing. The WIFI could be weak at night, and housekeeping is by request, which is frustrating if you forget to ask, though that may suit people who want privacy. The floor felt oddly sandy, and the shower room was a sore sight, with mold spots on the tiles, tile corners, and shower bidet. I didn’t mention it to staff since this was budget lodging, but they might take action. Water drained very slowly, and there was tangible dirt on the shower floor. Would I return? Not sure. I’d found a better bargain at the same type of lodging just 10 minutes’ walk away, but it was full. I think I’d stay here again if I had no choice.

It’s a nice, clean budget place, though the location isn’t ideal. The beach is still within walking distance, about 15 minutes away. Five minutes along the road toward the beach, on the right, there’s a great local eatery with the best fried chicken, for a fraction of what beachside places charge.

I’ve stayed here on two visits to Langkawi and have been really satisfied for the price. It’s a good choice if you don’t need many facilities, with all the basic necessities you’d expect. It’s far enough outside Cenang Beach to be quiet and away from the hectic atmosphere, yet the beach is still just a 5 mins drive away.
