Langkawi Chantique Resort

Moon at reception was always smiling and helpful. When I mentioned how much I liked the local donuts and that one stall was closed, she brought me some to try from another stall, right to our room. That was so thoughtful, thank you, Moon! Our family had a great six night stay at Chantique this month. We booked two connecting rooms, both clean and comfortable, and the AC worked well. Daily room cleaning is available, but we didn't need it. Staff were happy to bring fresh towels when we asked. The saltwater pool was very clean, kept up daily, and just the right temperature. Breakfast had a good Malaysian and Western selection, with eggs cooked fresh to order. Cenang is about a 15 minute walk away, with a decent swimming beach and plenty of places to eat. We preferred Sandy Skulls and Tanjung Rhu. We had a car, which was convenient, though Grab is cheap and the island is small.

The staff were very good, and the cottage motel was cozy, quite central on the main road. Right next door is a big restaurant with great home style food. Rooms were neat and very clean, with everything you'd need in a hotel room. Breakfast was basic but just right.

Breakfast had local and Western options, and the coffee was superb. While eating, I watched cute little birds nesting on the vertical garden. The staff were helpful whenever I needed directions, and polite throughout. The room was clean, while the pool and garden were well maintained. The resident cats are super chonky and charming, though each one is about as changeable as the sea tide when it comes to being petted.

We had two connecting rooms beside the pool for our family of four, and the resort was quiet, with plenty of loungers and a lovely outdoor sitting space at each unit. Breakfast was great, with eggs cooked how you like them and a small variety of Western and Asian options. We had a wonderful stay at the Langkawi Chantique. The beach is a short Grab ride away, and there's a weekly market and some restaurants within walking distance. The staff are friendly, and I'd definitely recommend staying here when visiting Langkawi.
