Mali-Mali Beach Resort

The one good thing is that this place is next to the beach. Otherwise, I couldn’t sleep because of my allergy, with dust all over the place and bed, plus ants and geckos. The bathroom door wouldn’t close fully, and the room door was easy to open without a key, so it didn’t feel safe. It was noisy, especially at bedtime, with people going to and leaving the beach. I booked two rooms for two days for me and my cousin, but we left early in the morning for another hotel after just one night. We lost the deposit, and it was hard to find parking. For me, this isn’t a hotel.

I’m extremely disappointed with Mali Mali’s management and the resort’s cleanliness. Bed bugs made my nephew’s face swell badly, and it took a week for him to recover. When we asked housekeeping to clean the room, the staff were very rude and handed us a broom to do it ourselves. The towels were worn out, so we had to buy our own. They dusted off the sheets and reused them instead of replacing them, and the bathrooms weren’t clean enough either.

The beach is just a minute from any room, so sand always comes inside. We stayed twice: the first room was older and not in the best condition, though it was cultured for a European person. The second was brand new and much better, even if smaller. They had good Wi-Fi and air conditioning, and we saw renovation work going on, so I hope they finish every room. There’s a bar that gets a little noisy at night. Drinks are cheaper at the duty free shops, and we had a few beers without anyone telling us not to. You can rent a beach bed by the day. If you don’t like salty water, there’s also a little pool to cool off in.

The room was comfy and clean, and the staff were kind, smiling, and great. It’s right by the beach and beach bar. I really liked my stay and would come back, but I suddenly had an ant invasion in the bathroom, so I can’t give it five stars. They’re renovating the place, and I’ll return in the future.
