The location was the one small plus, and my room was the closest one to the beach. That didn’t make up for the rest of the stay, which was absolutely not worth the price. I spent three nights here and saw plenty of better places for less money and with much higher quality. The hotels I stayed at afterward in other cities were a night-and-day difference. The city itself is lovely, and you don’t need to be right on the beach to enjoy it. There are also lots of other beachfront places that are cheaper and look much better. I wish I’d spent more time comparing options and trusted the bad reviews. Learn from my mistake and avoid this place. There’s a sketchy massage parlor right at the guesthouse entrance, and they were constantly pushy in a way that made me uncomfortable. The little kiosk closes around 9pm, and there isn’t a proper front desk, so when things got out of hand at 2am, I had to call the owner directly because nobody was on site. To be fair, he came over from his house. I also met one decent guy staying there, but even he was planning to leave early. The worst part was how little the owners seemed to care. I raised several problems and nothing was fixed. If they put even a bit of the money they make into the place, it could be fully booked all the time, because the location is actually great. Instead, they don’t seem to care. The woman at the front desk also tried to charge me extra “government” fees. Given how bad the stay was and that the money clearly wasn’t going into improvements, I refused. If they’re collecting money, they should at least use it to make the place basically livable. One night, seven drunk guys were blasting music until 2am. I confronted them, it escalated, and although they turned the music off, they threatened to knock on my door at 4am. I had to call the owner and then the police. The police came, and the guys left the next day. That gives you an idea of the kind of crowd this place attracts. My room was awful. There were cockroaches and spiders everywhere, as shown in the video I attached. The walls and even parts of the roof were literally falling apart. There was no sink, no hot water, and the toilet barely worked. I had to flush at least three times. A broken window let in constant noise and made the AC almost useless. At night I could hear geckos crawling around, like they were about to sneak inside. I complained about the window and was brushed off. I came in thinking the nice reviews might outweigh the many terrible ones, and that negative reviews were just the loudest voices. I was completely wrong. This place was terrible, and it taught me to read reviews more carefully. I’m genuinely begging you not to stay here, for your own good.
The room was in really bad shape, with poor-quality water, a smell that made it uncomfortable to stay in, and an AC that didn’t work. What upset me most was a female receptionist’s rude, unprofessional manner. She didn’t know how to speak or act politely with guests, and that was unacceptable and ruined the experience. I’ve never had service this poor in Malaysia, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. Avoid it if comfort and respectful service matter to you.
This may be the worst place I’ve stayed. We checked in at about 5pm on 28 December, and despite asking for a clean room, the one we got hadn’t been cleaned. There was mold and staining all over the walls, no TV, and the air conditioning didn’t work. There wasn’t even a ceiling fan or standing fan. We asked to change rooms and were shown two options. We chose one upstairs and moved our things in, planning to rest before going to the beach that night. At 6:30pm, the Malay lady started knocking loudly. I spoke through the wall because I didn’t want to open the door. That’s when I got really frustrated: she told us to leave the room we’d been allowed to stay in because somebody else had booked it. I asked why they couldn’t give that person another room, since the rooms were much the same, with the same queen bed and size. She didn’t answer, just kept knocking. When we finally opened up, she barged in and slammed the door. I was on the bed, people kept peeking over because of all the noise, and the whole thing was uncomfortable and embarrassing. This was absolutely sickening. If you can’t manage the place, don’t. Find something that suits your skills and management better. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU HOPE FOR AN ENJOYABLE OR MEMORABLE TRIP IN LANGKAWI.
I didn’t even last one night. I left as soon as the sun came up, after just eight miserable hours, abandoning the 3D2N stay I’d booked. The whole thing was a disaster. I’d originally booked somewhere else through Booking.com, but when I arrived I suddenly got a message saying that place was unavailable, and they sent me to this filthy motel instead. The room reeked of mold and rot. There were stains on the walls, holes everywhere, and the place stank. The toilet looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, and just standing there made me feel sick. At 3 AM, rainwater started leaking through the roof directly onto the bed. I was shocked. I called the manager, who rudely told me, “Ask Booking.com for a refund if you don’t like it.” No apology and no help. The staff were just as rude. This place is unsafe and unsanitary, and the people running it clearly don’t care. It should be shut down. Avoid it at all costs. Do not stay here ever.
Good spot near the beach, and it’s easy to find food nearby.
