OYO 91119 Hotel D Lima Inn

My one-night booking was confirmed and paid online, but when I went to check in, the receptionist said there was no room. He said the hotel had received the booking, but the website hadn’t updated to show that everything was sold out, and the staff blamed trip.com. It was during the 'Lima' airshow, when most hotels were full, and I was stuck. It was already late evening, and I only needed somewhere to sleep before leaving for Koh Lipe the next morning. I was about to go look for a room nearby, but the receptionist then offered me a family room he could let go for 80 ringgit, even though I was traveling alone. I suspected I was being swindled, but felt I had no choice. The website made it look like there was almost no chance of finding a nearby room. The staff said the amount I’d already paid online was gone, and I’d have to pay the offered amount if I wanted to stay. I strongly believe this was a tactic to scam someone during 'Lima', when rooms were hard to find. I hope others are aware of merchants who behave this way.
