The beds were filthy, and we had to make them ourselves with linen that didn’t even fit. The fans in the room were filthy and barely worked, and there was no AC. The facilities were terrible: no working Wi-Fi, toilet, or shower. When we tried to reach the owner and hostel staff, they wouldn’t answer and weren’t helpful. They also had great difficulty speaking English. There’s an old man living in one of the rooms who has apparently been staying there since 2016. He kept trying to annoy us and making rude comments. He criticized how we made our beds, moved our things like towels and bikinis, and moved our shoes. He was always showering, which made the water run out. His rudeness and the way he acted like he owned the hostel made us leave two nights early. Even though it’s very cheap, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and we really enjoyed our stay in the dormitory. It has 16 beds, each with a curtain for some privacy. Large bags aren’t allowed inside, but there are plenty of big lockers for backpacks and suitcases. Smaller lockers are also available in the room for a deposit. Check that the lock can’t be turned without a key, as some of them could be when we stayed. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to a supermarket, 15 to a food court, and 20 to Cenang Beach.

The rooftop room is big, and each bed has its own curtain, lamp, and plug. The hostel was kept clean all the time. There’s washing gel in the bathrooms and hot water, plus a small kitchen and a dispenser with hot and cold water. The common area is okay too, with sofas, a table, and other things. It’s very close to the night market, though the beach is a little farther, about a 10/15 min walk.

Every bed has a curtain, fan, and plugs, so there’s some privacy in the dorm. The lockers are large enough for a backpacker’s belongings, but there’s no light at each bed and the shared bathrooms clearly aren’t enough. There was no water in either of the dormitory’s two bathrooms for the entire 2 days, which was the most terrible disaster of my life. Construction noise also kept me from sleeping. Some staff were smoking inside the guest room. If you really love parties and are a heavy smoker, this could suit you. Otherwise, bring earplugs, both for sleeping and for an afternoon rest in the dorm.
