There was a cute kitty relaxing there, along with a few rabbits and turtles. The coffee was just as lovely. The staff member let me smell the options and choose one, then patiently explained each kind until I found a blend I really liked and that suited me. The hand brewing was skillful, bringing out a natural barley and wheat-like sweetness and flavor. My girlfriend usually doesn't drink coffee, but she loved the light roast too. Thanks for such a wonderful experience. I'll definitely come back when I'm in malacca again.

I bought some beans to bring back to Australia, and I've been enjoying them slowly, trying to make them last. The coffee had a lovely taste that lingered, and I enjoyed hearing the enthusiastic barista talk about where the beans came from and how they were grown. It was after a very rainy afternoon last May (2024) that I tried their own beans and roast, Calanthe Coffee Roastery, grown, harvested, and roasted in house (Denise Tai). This review took a while, but I've wanted to share what a wonderful coffee experience it was. I'd highly recommend Calanthe Artisan Loft!

The plants caught our eye first, then the great stationery shop, and finally the superb coffee. They really are artists. We bought postcards with stamps that made it into a British postbox, and I picked up a pair of earrings made on site.

The handmade Malaysian products are a nice touch, and the coffee is good. It feels so cozy here, almost like being at my grandmother's house. It can get a bit warm on hot days.

I loved the old Melaka heritage feel inside the loft. It's a cozy place for backpackers to stay, and also somewhere coffee lovers can relax. There's a good mix of local brands, including Vase Creation, with personal care and aromatherapy products that fit the laid-back feel. You can find a place to stay, have coffee, or browse local goods here. Calanthe Artisan Loft sits on Jonker Street, across from Calanthe Art Cafe, which is known for its curry Nyonya and coffee.
