I paid a very cheap RM50, but after seeing the reviews and the hotel's exterior, I still hadn't expected such a bad stay. The toilet door was broken and wouldn't shut properly, and the water heater only gave room-temperature water. The bedsheet and blanket were VERY DIRTY. I got itchy after covering myself with the sheet, possibly from dust or bugs. I think rooms with windows are generally the same as those without.

There was cigarette smell in the walkways, dust on surfaces, stained pillows and dirty bedsheets. The air conditioning didn't cool the room, either. I didn't feel safe leaving my belongings there, since the only security was a metal key for the room door. Not recommended. I'm not a fussy traveller, and I can find better rooms for the same price.

When I asked about the heritage tax, the reception staff answered me in a raised tone. They weren't friendly to guests, and staff in a hospitality business like a hotel should be more welcoming and answer questions politely.

Handy if you just need somewhere to sleep or take a short break. Bandar Hilir and Jonker Walk are easy to reach on foot or by Grab, which was RM5 at night. There is parking, a 7e, and restaurants nearby.
