The clean room had a nice bathroom and a comfortable bed, but the two-bedroom was really small and looked out onto the neighbors’ wall. The WiFi was shockingly slow, just 9 Mbps, so it’s not enough if you need to work there, and it’s not a good place to work from. Breakfast was boring, just toast with butter and jam and boiled eggs. I was disappointed and expected more for the price.

I’m really grateful to the team for the kind, prompt service. When I couldn’t find the hotel despite getting directions by phone, the male receptionist came out on his motorbike to meet me. He was patient and went out of his way to help, which made the whole stay feel so pleasant. Please pass on my thanks.

The pool is lovely and the location works well, but breakfast was a scramble. There’s only one toaster, so people had to queue for it, and the food felt repetitive. The rooms are tiny, and the owner or manager and receptionist came across as unfriendly. One morning a room attendant entered despite our “Do Not Disturb” sign, apparently because he saw my boyfriend having breakfast downstairs.

Parking was the one drawback. Otherwise, the room had plenty of space, and it was easy to find places to eat nearby. St Paul Hill and Istana Lama are close, so it worked well as a base.
