Check-in felt uncomfortable and unsafe. A staff member had a strong smell of alcohol, and later I saw staff drinking outside with empty cans around. It came across as unprofessional.

Jonker Street is about a 20-minute walk, around 1.2 km away, and parking is free. There’s also a convenience store and mamak places nearby, so bringing your own toiletries is manageable, since none were provided. The stay was good and clean, though the bedsheets seemed a bit old. Overall, it was good.

There are lots of places to eat nearby, and Jonker Street is fairly close. Parking is free in front and around the hotel, which is handy if you’re driving. The air conditioning and heater worked okay, and surprisingly, there was HBO. We had room 214, close to the back alley. The second-floor Wi-Fi kept cutting out, and at 2 am a rubbish truck woke us, then crows were calling at 5 am.

The room was tiny, with little space and no window, and the price suddenly went from RM98 to RM140. A Malay staff member pushed me to make an online bank transfer even though I was already near Stadhuys Melaka. I complained, but they wouldn’t refund me. I don’t think it was my fault, yet I had to pay the extra amount. Be careful, I felt this hotel was scamming me. NOT RECOMMENDED.

The staff member was rude and didn’t explain the room details. When they couldn’t provide what a guest wanted, they should have offered a solution or at least an idea, but she just kept being rude. Customers should be treated as right. This was a very bad hotel experience, and I really can’t recommend it. The Malay woman wearing a tudung behaved very badly.
