I’ve never posted a bad review of a budget hotel before, but this stay was awful. The room looked as if someone was still using it when we arrived: the sheets and mattress were left untidy, trash and hair covered the floor, and the rubbish hadn’t been emptied. The toilet was tiny, about wardrobe-sized, and the light bulb didn’t work. The drain was so poor that shower water rose to my ankles, forcing me to stop and wait for it to go down. I know it’s a budget hotel, but I could have found somewhere cleaner for less. The photos give you an idea of how I felt spending New Year’s Eve there. Venomi, you shouldn’t be operating until these problems are fixed. Right now, the place lives up to the name “VENOM”.

The staff were helpful and understanding, and the location worked well for my night in Melaka for a race. What let the stay down was how different the room looked from the website photos. The comforter cover seemed clean, but the bedsheet wasn’t, so I laid the clean towels over the spot where I slept. The bathroom worked, though the toilet was really dirty, possibly from something coming back up when it was flushed. I guess you get what you pay for.

I’m sure I lost the money at the hotel, since we’d already changed it into ringgit beforehand. I kept the cash in two separate bags, with $1,500 in each. After we left, both bags had $1,400. Someone took $100 from each, so it wouldn’t be noticed. I only realized $200 was missing when I got to KLIA. Don’t stay here if you don’t want to risk losing money.

Used blankets and sheets, dust, and hair were all over the room. It seemed like nobody bothered cleaning before the next guest arrived. This budget hotel was disgusting and showed no respect for its guests. Stay away.

For the price, the room was decent, with fresh linen and a clean bathroom. The AC and water heater both worked, and the staff were very accommodating at check-in. A good place to crash.
