Symphony Suite Malacca

The staff were easy to reach on WhatsApp and responded quickly when we complained. They fixed the toilet smell, cleaned the room, and promptly replaced our towels, though the bad smell came back the next day. That’s why I gave two stars instead of one. There was no Wi-Fi, and the stay was terrible. On arrival there was a strong mould smell, the mirrors had fingerprints and stains, the bath towels had spots, and the bedsheets and pillowcases were yellowish. The toilet smelled awful too. I’d only consider staying here if my budget were extremely tight and I still had to travel.

For the price, it was just okay for me. Check-in and checkout were quick, and the apartment had everything needed: microwave, fridge, electric induction, pots and pans, plates, iron, and hairdryer. Parking was free but so far away that I had no choice but to use valet parking for RM5 per day. The swimming pool was very nice, though you have to book ahead and wear a swimsuit. Cleanliness was so-so. There was still mould in the bathroom, the tissue holder was broken, and the sofa bed had stains and holes. The pillows and towels need replacing.

The kitchen looked fine, but the suite was one of the worst I’ve stayed in. Both rooms we booked had dirty sheets and pillows, and the room maintenance was poor. One also had a dirty sofa. The price was extremely cheap, so if you do stay here, you could bring your own sleeping bag and avoid using their sheets.

For one night with friends, it was okay overall. The sofa bed was quite dirty and stained, and no towel was provided even though they’d promised one before check-in. The toilet and kitchen could use improvement, with some visible mould, and the hair dryer didn’t work.
